My oldest passion real estate, building, and renovating houses. Initially, I studied Civil Engineering and Construction Management at one of the most prestigious technical college in Hungary. I complemented the traditional engineering education with studies in Sweden, where I studied environment law, environmental friendly construction, and even worked for a pioneer environmental firm specializing in oil based contamination on construction sites, as the construction industry is known to be second most polluting industry in Europe. Over the years, I shifted more and more to the financing side of real estate and focused on investment, asset management and the securities finance industry but my interest in Real Estate remained. My most recent work on mortgage lending by nontraditional nonbank lenders (the first Fintech firms) has been just published in the Journal of Real Estate Research. Now, being part of Squaresave to help people to more effectively save for downpayment to achieve home ownership responsibly, my passion in real estate is revived. My other passion is of course education, empowering people with the right knowledge and skills. I am always busy working on some investment research to highlight risks of the increasingly volatile market in the midst of the covid pandemic and in the recovery.
